About
I was born in Udine, Italy and moved to London in the late seventies. I studied Fine art and Critical Studied at St Martins School of Art. I worked and exhibited in London for several years before moving to Hastings in East Sussex where I now live and work. My studio is at 45 Ashburnham Rd Hastings TN35 5JL.
My work is inspired by the weather and the sea of the East Sussex coastline , and how they relate to each other. It focuses on depth of colour , scale and texture. Brush strokes, washes and paint surface suggest the ever changing nature of the waves and weather , ranging from dramatic turn moil to peaceful calm. The palette I use is a response to the atmospheric mood of the sky and the sea in East Sussex.
My paintings comprise seascapes and landscapes as well as human figures, dogs and seagulls .
The work covers a range of sizes from large (120 x100cm) to small scale (30x40cm). I use acrylic or oil on canvas and board.
I have exhibited in a number of venues in Italy, London and East Sussex.
